About this Bibliography
These documents originated from an effort by Lauren J. Livo to collect a complete up to date list of Field guides. Currently the list covers only the United States and Canada but we hope to expand this list to cover any country which has a herpetological field guide. This list was originally published with the following introduction:
Field guides provide one of the best ways to become acquainted with local reptiles and amphibians. The following lists indicate guides and other regional literatures for individual states and provinces. Where books have multiple editions or printings I have indicated the most recent version of which I am aware. Many of the books particularly the older ones are probably available only through large libraries or inter-library loan programs.

To help improve this list, please alert me via email (ljlivo@aol.com) to any books that you think should be included. Include author name(s), book title, year published, publisher and city, number of pages, and geographic region.
